Hey late night fans (and Late Night fans), one of the talk shows is turning into a podcast! NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers can now be enjoyed in bite-sized podcast form. As found by Splitsider, the podcast takes segments like "A Closer Look" -- where the host dedicates an extended period of time to a topic -- and "Jokes Seth Can't Tell" -- where Amber Ruffin and Jenny Hagel say things Seth can't -- and turns them into audio form! New "episodes" will be posted Tuesday through Friday. Podcasts are becoming bigger as the medium explodes with new shows every week. We even dedicated an episode of News Time to it! Check out the iTunes listing here and Android users can head to the podcasting app of their choice.
Iliza Shlesinger is going to late night
Appartently Freeform also wants to hop into late night and they're taking Iliza Shlesinger with them. Variety learned late last week that the network plans on using the comedian's "unique voice" to cover "what's happening in the moment." The show is also said to have a different side of late night due to her feminine voice and her unabashed opinions. But Samantha Bee is already doing that and Chelsea Lately has been doing it for years. So Shlesinger is still part of the crowd. Should this show be greenlit, expect it sometime next year.
TBS wants Samantha Bee for at least a year and Michelle Wolf is your next Daily Show contributor
Today turned out to be a great day for women in late night as two of the funniest in the business managed to use their comedy chops to high profile jobs. First, it was announced that Samantha Bee's late night series, Full Frontal, was renewed through 2016. A TBS press release stated that the series would have 26 more episodes on top of the thirteen it is already producing. If that doesn't sound so cool, look at John Oliver's Last Week Tonight today which was in a similar situation with HBO last year.
On top of that, Late Night with Seth Meyers writer Michelle Wolf is headed to The Daily Show. Joining Jessica Williams, Jordan Klepper, and a bunch of other funny people, Williams is set to be both a writer and on air contributor. Late night was once a barren wasteland to the female gender but this is a nice leap by today's standards. Let those lady ball hang low, girls!
Conan's adventure in Korea is airing in April
Remember when Conan O'Brien went to Korea way back in February? Well, now, all the videos he and his crew took are now being culminated into one big episode. Said episode, now titled Conan in Korea, is now set to air on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00 PM. In Seoul, Conan was joined by Walking Dead star Steven Yuen as the two traveled to the the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and the Joint Security Area (JSA). They're also joined by J.Y. Park to film a K-Pop music video. Conan also appeared in a couple of Korean soap operas too. They also love TeamCoCo's Clueless Gamer Aaron Bleyaert.
Conan is headed to South Korea
During last night's episode of the Conan late night television program, the carrot topped host announced the show was headed to South Korea next week to film one of its patented special episodes. This all stemmed from when a Seoul student who wrote to Conan, not to mention sent special snacks, so the host thought it best to go directly to her and thank her. He even made that promise to others. You heard that right guys: send Coco a bunch of junk food and he'll visit you.
