Chad White, Senior Editor, Sexiest Man of this Post
Hello everybody and welcome to the website that will change the world. Probably.
This is the welcome letter. There. Now that we have that awkwardness out of the way, we can continue in a relaxed fashion. Go ahead and put your feet up. Okay not on the coffee table, it's from Ikea and costs entirely too much. Be careful taking your feet off of the table. Don’t hit the… damn it! You knocked over my coffee. No, it’s okay. I’ll get it later.
You may be wondering how you got here. Moreover, you’re probably wondering why you’re still reading this nonsensical letter. Don’t you worry; I’ll get to the point. C+ Comedy is something that I've wanted to do for a long time. It takes what I like about news outlets such as the NY Times and BBC News but mixes in humor more akin to the A.V. Club and The Onion.
Having a hard time picturing that? Imagine if you will the show Adventure Time. Sure, it’s a kid’s show on the surface, but there’s so much more to it. On one side, you have a show about a 14 year old kid who is the last human on Earth after a nuclear war. The last human on Earth. That’s some messed up stuff. On another side, there’s an LCD laced trip going on in each episode that cannot be explained until you actually watch it. (Seriously, if you haven’t watched Adventure Time, stop what you’re doing and go watch it now. I mean, after you read this of course). Then there is a love story, environmental message, religious elements, and many more things than I care to admit to know. Even with all of that going on, Adventure Time manages to pull a viewership ranging from 5 year olds to 50 year olds. They accomplish this by appealing to the viewer’s emotions like surprise, amusement and wonder all the while producing an ongoing story arc that intrigues whoever is watching. That’s what we aim to do with this site: mass appeal through thought. We’re not trying to rewrite history; we’re trying to make life a little more enjoyable with a humorous spin on things.
If you know me, then you know I love to laugh. I want to make the whole world laugh. Who doesn’t like laughing? Even people with sticks so far up their asses they can taste bark enjoy a chuckle every now and then. There you have it; the goal of C+ Comedy is to entertain. But it’s not that easy. That’s why I’ve recruited some friends to help me.
The first person I asked was my brother in Chad, Chad Kroeber. If you haven’t met this man yet, you’re missing out. He is one of the funniest people I have ever met. Seriously, it’s like his brain contains only one liners designed to refute anything you say and make it funny at the same time. On top of that, he’s smarter than the average bear. He knows a ton of things in topics including television and world news. Chad also draws pictures with such artistry that makes me want to sit down and analyze ever single stroke he made.
The other guy I asked is one of my good friends from childhood, Cameron Crumley, or Crum as he prefers. He is a standup comedian, artist, writer, and song maker. He is the definition of multitalented. From a very early age, Cam was good at creating things. The walls of his room were always filled with his drawings and comics. The art he makes is just the type of weird, eccentric thing we need.
I’ve also asked some other people that will be introduced at a later date. If you have the inkling to write or create something, please feel free to email me. I’m always down to help people get their message out there. This site is for anyone who wants to express an idea of theirs. Have an article? Made a video? Drew a comic? Give it to us and we’ll put your voice out there.
There you have it. This was the introduction to our website. I hope you like everything we do.
Chad, Cam, and I hope you enjoy the site. Thanks for visiting and thanks for supporting our dream.
You can stop reading now.
