Jim Parsons is producing a VA hospital show, not about nerds

November 3, 2016

Not only does ABC dramatize doctors, but they joke about them too. Well, now they do. The alphabetical network has given a put pilot order to Lakeside VA -- a comedy about sub par VA hospital employees whose work environment is just as bad as their skills. Their work is then challenged by some new bit time female chief of surgery. Variety says the show comes from Shelly Gossman (SNL, Raising Hope, Sullivan & Son) whose experience at VA hospitals across the country was the catalyst for the show. Gossman will write and co-executive produce the series. Jim Parsons' That's Wonderful Productions is producing alongside Parsons himself as EP alongside Todd Spiewak and Bill Wrubel, and regular old producer Eric Norsoph.
