Hulu has been hard at work procuring new shows in order to compete with other streaming networks. Some say they should look into buying the Seeso run off that is Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. But that's what some say. (Come on, NBC. You produced the show for Heaven's sake!).
The streamer has balls in motion and one of those balls is a new show from Vir Das, The Goldbergs executive producer Doug Robinson, and writer Chris Case. Variety reports the show, In Theory, is a single camera is "about a self-destructive math genius turned Indian radio DJ Jazz (Vir Das) who moves from Mumbai, India, to a small Mid-Western college town where he becomes obsessed with completing his late father’s unfinished work, a grand, complex 'Theory of Happiness.'”
The other new series comes from Ramy Youssef who has teamed up with big names for the project including Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael Show), Ari Katcher (The Carmichael Show) and production company A24. Deadline says the show follows "Youssef’s distinct point-of-view as a contemporary Egyptian-American Muslim, caught between multiple worlds and what it means to be Arab, American, and Muslim at a time when each of those identity markers is going through a crisis of definition."
And finally, as you wait for those two shows to premiere, be ready for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Future Man. The network ordered the series almost a year ago and viewers can see it on November 14. Josh Hutcherson stars as a science lab janitor turned time traveler who puts his gaming skills to the test when the future calls for his help.
