It's hard out there for a character actor. Sometimes, roles line up for them. Other times, not so much. Steady work is possible but looks to be impossible from the outside. Landing a show is hard enough. Keeping one is a different story. Kyle Bornheimer is one of the unlucky ones when it comes to keeping a show. In the past six years alone, he's been on three projects that failed (Perfect Couples, Angel From Hell, and Family Tools). But he's a heck of an actor and can sell a joke in every scene. Better yet, he's constantly up for recurring roles on shows like Playing House, Agent Carter and Casual (all three have been canceled but that's neither here nor there).
Bornheimer is now set to topline a new comedy according to Deadline. Breadwinners is a comedy about a dad trying to reinvent himself as a chef who stumbles into the foodie world. Bornheimer co-wrote the pilot with Ben Sutor.
Let's hope this one sticks.
