"Insecure" season two looks to be a little bit more secure

Insecure, the show that seemingly everyone missed in favor of Atlanta, is coming back. The trailer for the second season was just released and it shows creator Issa Rae hitting the dating scene. Insecure was renewed back in November by HBO. We reviewed the first episode and were sold on it from the get go. Season 2 of Insecure premieres on Sunday, July 23 at 10 PM.

HBO teases Sarah Jessica Parker’s ‘Divorce,’ Issa Rae’s ability to be ‘Insecure’

As mentioned in yesterday’s news, HBO has begun thinning the herd for its TV shows but simultaneously preparing for new ones. Both The Brink and Vinyl got those juicy, juicy renewals only to have them yanked away in a flash while the picked up another comedy in Prep. Now, the Home Box Office is ready to show off similarly single word named new boos in Sarah Jessica Parker’s Divorce and Issa Rae’s Insecure. Sex In The City and HBO grad Parker’s Divorce follows her divorce from Thomas Haden Church that proves to be both freeing and gratifying. Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam are also in the cast. Rae’s Insecure is a lot more personal. The show, co-created with Larry Wilmore, is about her friendship with a girl named Molly (Yvonne Orji) as the two deal with issues like race and uncomfortable experiences. Both shows will premiere this fall.
