Absurdist humor is coming back to Adult Swim (as if it ever left) in the form of Steve Brule. John C. Reilly's aloof character that somehow has earned a doctorate is getting his own special next month. EW reports that the character is coming to the late night block Friday, February 20 at 12:30 AM in Bagboy.

“Several years ago, Brule starred in a sitcom pilot titled Bagboy about the employees and customers of Meyer’s Superfoods. In this pilot, he plays a bag boy who attempts to thwart a shoplifter while vying for the affections of a cashier named Daisy. Alas, Channel 5 ultimately shelved the show ‘due to its substandard quality and low entertainment value.’”

Bagboy was co-written by Reilly and the original show's Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim.
