As Netflix grows, so will its acquisitions. Soon enough, the service will be $15 but only consist of originals. If it's still worth it or not is up to you (it probably will be; look at HBO Now). The streaming service continues to bulk up its catalog with the purchase of Atypical starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Rapaport, and Keir Gilchrist. The Hollywood Report says the show comes from Robia Rashid, producer and writer of great shows like The Goldberg and How I Met Your Mother, and she will work with Seth Gordon who will direct the pilot and serve as EP.. The story will follow Gilchrist as Sam, an 18 year old sitting on the autistic spectrum who is searching for love and independence. The show follows his family -- including his parents played by Rapaport and Leigh -- as they try to figure out what's normal in life.
A whole bunch of famous funny people joined Woody Allen's Amazon show
Woody Allen and Amazon's fruitful relationship continues to bear good news as the cast for the legendary director's new show continues to grow. Around this time last year, the two announced a joint venture to create a budding relationship based around a couple of movies and a TV series. It's been announced that Lewis Black, Michael Rapaport, Joy Behar, Ann Baker and more have joined the yet to be titled series. They, along with Margaret Ladd, Rebecca Schull, David Harbour, and Christine Ebersole, join the already announced cast including Allen himself, Miley Cyrus, John Magaro, and Rachel Brosnahan. No word yet on if Allen recent frequent collaborator Emma Stone is even considered. The only thing known about the show is that it takes place sometime in the 1960's. But, hey, production is said to have already begun so that's neat.
