Fans of Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani will be happy to know that their new movie, The Big Sick, comes out in just a few months. Today, those very same fans can check out the new trailer for the Sundance favorite.

Nanjiani stars as himself and Gordon is played by comedy darling Zoe Kazan as the two discover their newfound relationship. Suddenly, Gordon is struck with an unknown disease and Nanjiani helps his new girlfriend's parents (Romano and Holly Hunter) get through the tough situation. Michael Showalter directs and Judd Apatow produces along with Barry Mendel. The Big Sick releases limited on June 23rd and worldwide on July 14. 

New York Comedy Festival returns with Trevor Noah, Sarah Silverman, Bill Maher, & several hundred others

Three of today's top comedians will show their comedy chops as headliners in this year's New York Comedy Festival. Trevor Noah, Sarah Silverman and Bill Maher will be joined by other comedians as they make audiences laugh for a week straight. Starting November 10 and ending the 15th, the NYCF is set to feature the likes of Judd Apatow (yes, he does standup too!), Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho, Billy Crystal, Bill Burr, Kathy Griffin, Gabriel Iglesias, Norm Macdonald, and Kumail Nanjiani among others. The Wrap reports this event is in co-production with Comedy Central. 200+ comedians will perform more than 60 shows throughout various stages in the city from Madison Square Garden, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Carnegie Hall. Several panels will be held as well such as “An Evening with the Late Show with David Letterman Writers” and “Clown Panties and Other Unpleasant Truths: An Evening with Inside Amy Schumer.” Head to the NYCF site in order to purchase tickets on August 17.

Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani's 'Meltdown' is Getting a 2nd Season

Fans of podcasts and indie music gather around. Backroom comedy show turned Comedy Central comedy show The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail is coming back. While the channel hasn't granted an official renewal, host Jonah Ray let it slip - on Tumblr of all places - that the show was coming back. Eight shows will be filmed for television throughout March and April. If you haven't seen the first season you should probably catch up. Or check out their respective podcasts. Ray is on Nerdist and Jonah Raydio while Kumail Nanjiani heads The Indoor Kids with his wife and Meltdown producer Emily V. Gordon.
