The series is bright and colorful with some good writing and even better performances. It really stands out. Plus it's short. Internet based comedy is coming to paid cable with HBO's acquisition of the Vimeo series High Maintenance. The Big H has ordered six episodes of the show. To add to that, the show's current 19 episodes are even headed to the streaming applications HBO Go and HBO Now sometime later this year.

"High Maintenance has proven to be one of today’s most highly-acclaimed online comedies,” said HBO’s Michael Lombardo. “We are thrilled to bring this sophisticated and clever series to our HBO audience."

For those of you who haven't seen the show, it follows a Brooklyn pot dealer -- "The Guy" -- who delivers to clients with neuroses as diverse as the city. It was created and written by the married partners Katja Blichfeld ( 30 Rock) and Ben Sinclair (Sisters), and executive produced by Katja Blichfeld, Russell Gregory and Ben Sinclair. Sinclair also stars in the show as said "Guy" who interacts with all of his weird customers.

“We have been growing this show organically for three years now, and we are elated to bring it into full maturity at HBO, the gold-standard of both online and televised entertainment,” said Blichfeld and Sinclair.

The show has proven to be a hit for Vimeo's streaming service that apparently exists. Sinclair and Blichfield even won a WGa Award for the episode "Rachel." This is all fitting news for 4/20.
