The Lonely Island and Paul Scheer are making a Sketch Show for Fox

Remember how Saturday Night Live kind of rules the Saturday night comedy slot? Well that's about to change if Fox has its way. Variety reported that the channel has teamed up resident SNL alums The Lonely Island -- Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer -- and the white guy from Fresh Off The Boat (and a whole bunch of other things) Paul Scheer for a Saturday night sketch show. The super original idea for the show, Party Over Here, is said to be half an hour and debuting slightly before the 41 year old NBC veteran. The premiere episode lands on March 12 at 11 PM. Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna, and Alison Rich are included among the cast.

SNL Just Hired A Whole Bunch Of Promising Writers

Alison Rich was the first to join the crew but now she is getting some new coworkers.

Splitsider reports that Good Neighbor member Nick Rutherford has finally been accepted to the show where he will join his alum Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney, and director Dave McCary. Here's to more absurd yet hilarious content on SNL.

But that's not all. New hires also include College Humor's Streeter Seidell, UCB's Natasha Rothwell, and  PIT guy Jeremy Beiler. Each brings their own strengths to the table. Seidell has written for his site for years as well as episodes of Trophy Wife; Rothwell was considered as a new hire last year before Sasheer Zamata was brought aboard; Beiler has done Inside Amy Schumer.

SNL will kick off its 40th season with Chris Pratt on September 27th.
