Tig Notaro is Getting Her Own HBO Special

Tig Notaro's career is continuing on its J-shaped rise as HBO announced today that the comedienne will star in her own special.

“Tig Notaro is a ‘comedian’s comedian,’ whose uniquely fearless and always funny voice has won acclaim from critics and fans alike,” said Mike Lombardo, head of HBO Programming. “I’m so happy that we will be able to introduce this remarkable performer to a larger audience.”

If you didn't think she was already a comedy strongwoman, check out the rest of Notaro's credits which include films like In A World and Walk of Shame and TV shows like Amazon's Transparent as well as IFC's Garfunkel and Oates, Maron and Comedy Bang! Bang! Somebody tell her that she needs to slow down. Save some TV for the other comedians, why don't you!

New Face Friday: 'Elevator Talk' By It's Past My Bedtime

You probably thought I wasn't going to continue this New Face Friday thing didn't you? I never quit anything! Except for karate. And dancing. And this senten

Topher Harless and his crew at It's Past My Bedtime know that small talk is the worst. Heck, even I know that. But their latest sketch takes the whole annoying situation to an entirely different level.

It's Past My Bedtime is a live comedy show in Los Angeles bringing together late night and sketch comedy. The show includes special guests and a live band.

New Face Friday: Matt Harbert Has New Dog Food

Welcome to New Face Friday (or Fresh Face Friday. Whatever I decided to call it). This is where we find the best of the new faces in comedy. This week's first submission comes from the mind of YouTuber Matt Harbert. I assure you, it's Harbert and NOT Herbert. I was thrown off too.

"It's a Fucking Dog Dog Food" takes a satiric look at how we should treat dogs. It's funny and well produced, especially for an amateur. Stop by Harbert's channel and drop a like.

Louis C.K., Julia Louis Dryfus, & Stephen Colbert Are The Real Winners At The Emmys

The Emmys were last night just in case you didn't watch. But that's why I'm here: to help you gather all of the winners in one place and celebrate their victories. Of course, shows like Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory won big. Then there's the surprises like Allison Janney who won (TWICE) for her role on Mom and her guest spot on Masters of Sex. All of the SNL alum/current cast that were nominated lost including Kate McKinnon, Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig and Amy Poehler. Also, for some odd reason, Orange Is The New Black was submitted in the comedy section. This was both a smart and stupid move because they had no chance against True Detective or Breaking Bad but Modern Family and Veep are pure comedies. Oh Netflix.
