'Girls' to end its naked, sweaty run after season 6

HBO's most modern show about naked women that's  not Game of Thrones will end next year. Girls, the Lena Dunham lead and Judd Apatow produced series, will come to an end following its sixth season. With season five right around the corner, Variety has learned that the pay network show about a bunch of girls and their guy friends living in New York will indeed announce its end at Thursday's Television Critics Association press tour. Dunham has been hinting at the series's demise in past interviews citing the British model for television. She's reportedly stated that she doesn't want to overstay her welcome saying that "America has a tendency to push shows past their due dates." This very move has been notably taken by other great shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad. The fifth season of Girls premieres on HBO on Sunday, February 21 at 10PM.
