Aziz Ansari and Netflix will Continue to Work Together but now for a TV Show

Parks & Rec is over and poor Aziz Ansari has nowhere to go. He's had a pretty good relationship with Netflix after releasing two stand up specials exclusively to the service so, naturally, he's decided to make a TV show for them.

Deadline writes Ansari is signed to topline a 10-episode first season of a straight-to-order series. Other comedians set to star include H. Jon Benjamin and his amazing voice; Lena Waithe of Dear White People fame; the Eric half of Tim & Eric, Eric Wareheim; SNL alum Noel Wells; and a guy named Kelvin Yu.

The show is without a title at the moment and details are under the radar but there may be auto-biographical components along with relationship aspects.

Parks & Rec producers Michael Schur, Dave Miner and Alan Yang are also producing this show with Yang co-executive producing with Ansari. Spectacular Now's James Ponsoldt will be directing.

'Parks and Rec's' Final Season to be Shotgunned at You

In an effort to get you to hurry up and not watch their network any longer, NBC has decided to just throw all of the seventh and final season of Parks and Rec up over a few weeks.

The fan favorite show will move from its comfy but lame Thursday night "comedy block" to Tuesday nights. This begins January 13 at 8 PM. Episodes will be played back to back for for the next couple of weeks leading up to the finale on February 24.

Michael Schur told EW "I think everyone feels like, 'We don’t want to overstay our welcome. We want to go out on a high note...We did this big creative leap at the end of last year and now we get to pursue that in a fun way for half the year and then we'll wave goodbye and exit stage left."

With Parks and Rec gone, you'll now have time to focus on the important things like... that thing you like to do and that other thing. Sigh. I'll miss this show.

Adam Scott & Producer Naomi Scott Sell Family Business To Universal TV

Adam Scott and his wife and sometimes producer Naomi are opening up some more comedic avenues.

Their production company, Gettin' Rad Productions, has pulled in a first-look deal with Universal Television, the company behind all of those NBC shows you love including Parks and Recreation and other shows including Brooklyn Nine Nine and The Mindy Project. The Scott family is known for their insanely dumb but highly funny Adult Swim specials The Greatest Event In Television History

"We love Adam's work as Ben Wyatt in our beloved Parks and Recreation, and we are excited that his and Naomi's passion to produce will continue with us at Universal TV," said Universal TV's executive vice president Bela Bajaria.

Gettin' Rad Production's latest venture is an indie film, The Overnight, that stars Scott opposite Orange Is the New Black's Taylor Schilling and Jason Schwartzman.
